Merge multiple recording into branches off the same initial node. Make transport state sane with 3 distinct states. Handle announcing objects several times correctly. Since FlowCanvas's containers own their children, there is no real benefit to using smart pointers for objects, though there is overhead. Instead, just store a pointer to the containing canvas in Items, since it should not be possible for an Item to outlive its containing Canvas anyway.
